Who’s Dalian?

Dalian is the governing subprovincial city in the eastern Liaoning Province of Northeast China.,covering 13,237 square kilometers with a population of 6,69 million.Dalian is located in the south end of Liaotung peninsula in Northeast China with the Yellow Sea to its east, Bohai Sea to its west, Shandong peninsula to its south separated by the vast sea, and the broad Northeast Plain to its north. It is the sea portal of Northeast China, North China, East China and the world at large. Its picturesque landscapes with the blue sky, the azure sea, green hills, white stones, the rolling coast and undulating tides form charming and graceful seashore sceneries. With its splendid landscape and colourful places of historic figures and cultural heritage, Dalian is attractive for tourists. Dalian is China's well-known summer resort and a popular tourist destination city,mountains and pleasant weather, beautiful environment, suitable for living, Dalian is China's first "outstanding tourist city", not only in modern China has rich tourism resources in the humanities and history, there are also many scenic natural tourism resources.

Climate

Dalian is a city famous for its summer resorts and tourism hotspots that borders on mountains and sea with suitable climate and nice environment. It is a good place for living with no heated summer and no freezing winter. The annual average temperature of 26℃ in summer and -10℃ in winter,with an annual raindrop capacity of 700 mm and it has six frost-free months.

The special of Dalian

Dalian is a place where you can find natural scenes of stunning beauty,  amiable climate, stylish architecture, comfortable beaches and summer tourist resorts. The gardens and circuses everywhere are good decorations of the city. Along the southern coast, a road like a jade ribbon runs among the mountains and along the sea, threading through the scenic spots of Bangchui Island, Tiger Beach, Fujia Village, Baiyunshan Park, and Xinghai Park. To the southwest of the city, there are worldly famous Lushunkou. Taiyanggou (Sun Valley), and Baiyu Mount (White Jade Mount) and natural wonders such as the Snake Island and the Sea Cat Island. To the north of the city, there is the Golden Pebble Beach Holiday Resort, where one can see typical sea-corroded landscape and landform of coastal cast, and the Almighty's master piece----the unique "turtle-shell rocks." In Dalian there is also the Bingyu Valley's scenery attractions in the north of the Zhuanghe city, which boasts soothing green mountains and clear rivers. In addition,Dalian features different unique cultures, one feature of which is to radiate towards four directions with the square as the centre. Dalian has many squares that consist of one land, however the size, and the radiating streets towards all directions. The city has over 80 squares; moreover, Dalian also has colourful square cultures with green belt, white doves, sculpture, spring and countrywide unique female mount police and waltz.

Festivals in Dalian

Dalian Sophora Japonica Appreciation Festival(大连赏槐会） is held in late May. Dalian is designated as the‘Oriental City for Sophora Japonica’ and every year, stunningly numerous people would come for a visit. Visitors can get a view of the taste of Sophora Japonica and ca n feel again the amusement to fly a kite. During May, 23rd and 28th, Export Commodities Fair, Dalian, China would also be held.

Dalian International Costume Festiva（大连国际服装节）l is held in early September. A saying goes like this: ‘Gourmet in Guangzhou, Amusement in Shanghai and Costume in Dalian’. Dalian International Costume Festival that started in 1988 is called ‘Dalian Carnival’ by foreign guests. It is a pageant of international economy and culture that integrates commerce and trade, culture and tourism when famous people, VIP, celebrity models, sing stars and movie stars gather together and when the world art quintessence is on show, it is exceedingly lively.

Dalian International Beer Festiva（大连啤酒节）l held in August in Star Sea Square every summer jointly held by CNLIC and the People’s Government of Dalian.

Dalian International Marathon Race（大连马拉松赛） athletic, like football, is a sport favored by Dalian people.Dalian is a famous ‘Town for Athletics’ in China and home for many world champions.
